FAQ
A few good questions.
The basics of Geo, shared knowledge, and getting started.
What is Geo?
Geo is a community for organizing knowledge we can trust. It brings information and conversations together around a public knowledge graph.
Who is Geo for?
Geo is for people and communities who want to explore ideas, organize information, and build shared understanding around the topics they care about.
What is a knowledge graph?
A knowledge graph organizes information as things and the relationships between them. Connecting people, places, concepts, and sources helps make information easier to explore in context.
What does verifiable knowledge mean?
It means providing sources and context so others can examine the evidence behind a claim. A claim’s presence in a knowledge graph does not by itself make it true.
How do I get started?
Visit Geo in your browser to explore, or read our getting started guide.
Is there a desktop app?
Yes. Geo for Desktop is available for Macs with Apple silicon running macOS 12 or later. See the Downloads page for the current build and release details.
Does the desktop app work offline?
The app runs on your Mac, but an internet connection is required for live content and account services.
Can you help my community use Geo?
Yes. Tell us you’re interested through our Help page. Our team can discuss organizing your community’s knowledge and applying verifiable knowledge to your use case.
