Miela joined Third Sphere in 2022 and is an Investor and Operating Partner. She is energized by deep dives and tinkering, and sees climate as a physical challenge requiring physical solutions — scaling hardtech that benefits from an expanded capital stack.
She focuses on seed-stage climate hardware investing and on mapping non-dilutive and credit capital sources, helping climate founders navigate the credit landscape and alternative funding mechanisms. She approaches climate as one manifestation of a greater metacrisis in societal coordination, and is drawn to near sci-fi solutions that benefit the world we live in without relying on altruism, policy, or 10+ year science derisking timelines.
Before Third Sphere she worked in management consulting at Bain & Company (Utilities and Corporate Sustainability), the New York Green Bank, and Bloomberg New Energy Finance. She holds a dual BS in Environmental Engineering and Environmental Studies from Yale, with a scholar certificate from the Yale Climate and Energy Institute.
She is currently building capstackcompass.ai to help founders find alternative, non-dilutive sources of capital, and is fascinated by intentional communities and how social containers shape exploration. Outside work she is into climbing, backcountry skiing, spikeball, surfing, photography, and fermenting things.
