Malone Lam Bitcoin RICO guilty plea

On 8 September 2026 Singaporean national Malone Lam pleaded guilty in Washington, D.C. federal court to a RICO conspiracy tied to a more than $245 million Bitcoin social-engineering ring that siphoned over 4,100 BTC. Prosecutors call it the first major DOJ Bitcoin theft case charged under RICO.
