Sophia Gold, Engineer at the Ethereum Foundation, mentioned that Ethereum’s zkEVM architecture will allow validators to verify blocks by checking multiple independent zk-proofs instead of re-executing transactions.
Ethereum Foundation requires that zkEVM real-time proving be achievable on hardware consuming 10kW or less, enabling solo validators and residential setups to participate.
Ethereum Foundation is designing its zkEVM rollout to support home proving, enabling solo stakers who run validators from home to participate in proving.
zkVM teams involved in Ethereum’s zkEVM rollout are expected to optimize real-time proving for on-premises environments with constrained hardware capabilities.
