Chinese sanctions over Taiwan's diplomatic ties

China sanctioned Paraguayan and Belizean ministers over their countries' relations with Taiwan. Beijing invoked sovereignty and opposition to Taiwanese independence; Taipei condemned interference in other countries' foreign policies. Belize said the measures would not change its diplomatic relationship with Taiwan.
