US fighter-jet deliveries strengthen Taiwan's ability to deter Chinese military action

The first two of 66 US-built F-16V fighters arrived in Taiwan on 2 October after production delays. The delivery occurred shortly after the Trump–Xi summit; it does not resolve the status of a separate, delayed US arms package.
