The FAHR-FaceAge tool estimates a patient's biological age from a photo, while FAHR-FaceSurvival predicts cancer survival outcomes directly from a facial photograph.

FAHR-FaceSurvival directly learns cancer mortality risk from facial photographs without inferring survival through an intermediate biological age calculation.

Mass General Brigham researchers expanded their work through an online, institutional review board-approved public study where participants upload facial photographs to receive biological age readouts.

In the Sungkyunkwan University cohort, each 1-unit increase in biological age acceleration based on nine routine blood markers was associated with a 7% higher risk of early-onset colorectal adenocarcinoma.

Accelerated biological aging was associated with higher risk for colon adenocarcinoma, while showing no statistically significant association with rectal adenocarcinoma or neuroendocrine tumors.

A Sungkyunkwan University study of 198,491 Korean adults under 50 published in Clinical Gastroenterology and Hepatology linked accelerated biological aging to a 93% higher risk for early-onset colorectal adenocarcinoma.

Participants in the Karolinska Institutet study who became physically active during adulthood achieved physical capacity improvements of approximately 5 to 10 percent.

The Karolinska Institutet research team repeatedly evaluated the same individuals over 47 years across aerobic fitness, muscular endurance, and explosive muscle power.

A 47-year Swedish study found that physical fitness, muscular endurance, and physical performance generally begin declining around age 35, even among active individuals.

Aerobic fitness and muscular endurance reached their peak levels between ages 26 and 36 before physical performance began declining in the mid-30s.

Regular physical exercise does not entirely stop biological physical decline, but active individuals maintain higher baseline endurance, mobility, and muscle power throughout adulthood.

By age 63, average physical performance across measured metrics fell by roughly 30 to 48 percent from peak levels.

A University of California, Berkeley study in Nature showed 20-month-old mice treated with semaglutide achieved an average lifespan of 834 days compared to 742 days for placebo-treated mice.

A Novo Nordisk preprint study found semaglutide reduced the heart's biological age by two to four years and reduced organ biological age for the lungs, kidneys, brain, and pancreas by one to four years.

Eli Lilly's Surmount V clinical trial data on tirzepatide showed biological aging reduced by 0.7 to 1.1 years across different epigenetic clocks among adults over age 50 after 72 weeks.

Overall rates of age-related physical decline were similar between men and women across the 47-year study cohort.

The Swedish Physical Activity and Fitness study, conducted by Karolinska Institutet researchers, tracked 427 randomly selected men and women born in 1958 from age 16 through age 63.

Progressive loss of muscle mass and cellular responsiveness with age contributes to sarcopenia, impairing the capacity to perform daily physical activities.

Biological factors contributing to physical performance decline after age 35 include alterations in muscle cell function, nervous system signaling, and reduced mitochondrial energy production.

A University of California, Berkeley study published in Nature found that 20-month-old mice treated with semaglutide lived an average of 834 days compared to 742 days for placebo-treated mice.
