Ban Artificial Superintelligence Act

Proposed US federal bill introduced in September 2026 by Senator Bernie Sanders and Representative Greg Casar that would permanently ban artificial superintelligence, pause advanced AI development until federal safety rules exist, and create a cabinet-level Department of Artificial Intelligence.
