Ethereum developers initially declared Sepolia’s upgrade a success, with validators achieving a perfect proposal rate. However, soon after, empty blocks appeared, raising concerns about the upgrade’s stability.
The Ethereum Foundation stated that Sepolia’s issue stemmed from a testnet-specific misconfiguration, not a flaw in Pectra. A similar problem in February’s Holesky test caused a chain split due to validator misconfiguration.
