Ethereum’s gas limit caps the total computational resources allowed per block, influencing transaction throughput, and as of early 2025, it is set at approximately 36 million gas units, up from 30 million earlier that year.
Dankrad Feist’s EIP-9698 proposal to 100x Ethereum’s gas limit, is aligned with an earlier recommendation by Vitalik Buterin to increase the gas limit to support transaction inclusion.
