Consensys has acquired wallet infrastructure provider Web3Auth in an undisclosed deal to enhance MetaMask’s user experience and security. The acquisition specifically targets improvements in seed phrase management, a known vulnerability in self-custody, by introducing Web2-style authentication methods for more accessible wallet recovery.
