Vietnam ends crypto ‘Grey Zone’ with sweeping new digital asset legislation

Vietnam has passed the Law on Digital Technology Industry, officially regulating digital assets and ending its long-standing crypto "grey zone." Effective from January 1, 2026, the law introduces licensing, AML rules, and tax policies, positioning Vietnam as a major regulated crypto hub in Southeast Asia.
