Existing decentralized applications on Ethereum and other EVM-compatible networks can be migrated to ZKsync with minimal or no code changes, due to full EVM equivalence.
The EVM Interpreter enabling full equivalence on ZKsync was formally approved under ZKsync Improvement Proposal 9 (ZIP-9) and activated in protocol version 27.
Contract address generation using create and create2 on ZKsync now mirrors Ethereum’s output exactly, and critical infrastructure contracts are pre-deployed on the network.
The ZKsync network now uses a Bytecode Interpreter to execute standard EVM bytecode without modification, enabling compatibility with Ethereum-based projects, due to its EVM equivalence
