Block fined $40M over AML and compliance failures

Block Inc. has agreed to a $40 million settlement with New York’s financial regulator over compliance failures tied to its Cash App platform. The DFS found significant lapses in AML procedures, consumer protection and high-risk crypto transaction monitoring.
