The CLMM smart contract exploited in the $223 million Cetus Protocol attack was patched and upgraded after the incident, but has not yet been restarted.
The Cetus Protocol is collaborating with the Sui security team and audit partners to revalidate all upgraded smart contracts before reactivating its CLMM pools as part of its post-attack recovery plan.
The Cetus team disabled its core CLMM pools within 30 minutes of the exploit on its protocol in May 2025 in order to prevent further asset loss.
The Cetus Protocol initiated a comprehensive security overhaul after the $223 million exploit, introducing real-time monitoring, enhanced risk management, deeper test coverage, and milestone-based audits.
