Manas

A cultural complex in the Talas region of western Kyrgyzstan, built around a 14th-century mausoleum said to hold the legendary hero Manas, the warrior who united the Kyrgyz tribes and the subject of one of the world's longest oral epics. His wife reportedly inscribed a woman's name on the tomb to protect it from enemies.
