Conegliano

Town in the Veneto foothills north of Treviso, the birthplace of Renaissance painter Cima da Conegliano and the heart of Prosecco country. A medieval castle crowns the hill above its arcaded main street, and the surrounding UNESCO-listed hills of rippling vineyards stretch west to Valdobbiadene, home also to Italy's oldest oenological school, founded in 1876.
