Only correct decision making can lead to the system’s prosperity, therefore decision making powers should be delegated to individuals who have proven to be the most competent.

Strengths

Meritocracy is more prone to corruption because there are fewer checks such as elections and voting for people in power

Resources and connections are required to achieve merits through good schools, tutoring, universities etc . Meritocracy can lead to perpetual inequality if certain groups are systematically excluded from positions of power and influence due to the lack of resources to achieve merit.
